Total Organic Carbon Analyzer TOC-L Series

A total organic carbon analyzer (TOC) measures the carbon content of organic substances in water. One of the important factors for a TOC analyzer is the ability to oxidize organic carbon. The Shimadzu TOC-L Series efficiently oxidizes not only easily-decomposed, low-molecular-weight organic compounds, but also hard-to-decompose insoluble and macromolecular organic compounds.
The Shimadzu TOC-L uses a unique combustion catalytic oxidation and NDIR* method that permits measurements of all samples from ultrapure water to highly contaminated water. (Range of measurement is 4 μg/L to 25000 mg/L.)

*NDIR: Nondispersive Infrared
This method uses NDIR to measure the carbon dioxide generated by combustion catalytic oxidation.
